Lab director: Professor Megan Freeth

Prof Freeth gained her PhD from the University of Nottingham in 2009. She was supervised by Dr Danielle Ropar, Professor Peter Mitchell and Dr Peter Chapman. Prior to this, she obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Birmingham.

Prof Freeth came to the University of Sheffield on an ESRC post-doctoral fellowship and then held a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship. She took up a lectureship in 2013 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2020 and Professor of Neurodevelopmental Psychology in 2024.

Professor Elizabeth Milne

Professor Milne gained her PhD from University College London, in 2004, supervised by Dr John Swettenham and Professor Ruth Campbell. Prior to that she worked with Dr Jordan Grafman as a research assistant in the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH, and obtained her undergraduate degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford.

She took up a lectureship at the University of Sheffield in 2005. Her current post is Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and deputy Vice President of the Faculty of Science.

Dr Emma Morgan

Dr Morgan gained her PhD from the University of Sheffield, in 2019, supervised by Dr Megan Freeth and Dr Daniel Carroll. Prior to that she attained her MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and BSc in Applied Psychology from the University of Durham. She took up a permanent lectureship at the University of Sheffield in 2021. She is employability lead for the School of Psychology

Dr Daniel Poole

Dr Poole gained his PhD from the University of Manchester in 2015, supervised by Dr Ellen Poliakoff, Dr Emma Gowen and Dr Paul Warren. 

Dr Poole came to Sheffield in 2021 to take up an ESRC funded fellowship What You Can't Ignore: Examining Distraction in Autism. He took up a lectureship in 2023.
